Our mission is to protect streamside habitat and the diverse life that lives on or in the waters.
The Creekside Coalition is a partnership of wildlife experts, landowners, ranch managers, biologists, fishers, farmers, river runners, outfitters, hunters, and citizens from all over the West who have come together to form an alliance to protect Colorado's riparian sanctuaries.
Long ago it was recognized that our special riparian areas are vital for diverse species to flourish in the water-starved West. This is especially true in Colorado, where even the high mountain sides are often devoid of wetland habitat. Without protection, many precious wetland acres are endangered.
Since 1994, Creekside has brought together people of all walks of life and all backgrounds to form a coalition to prevent these special environments from being damaged and to foster actions that protect this valuable resource.
The common definition of a riparian zone is the interface between land and stream. The values that Creekside seeks to protect are not just in this buffer zone, but in the waters of the streams and on the lands that are home to a considerable diversity of small animals, water fowl and birds.
